OUR STORY
The year 1954 Cathey’s Vacuum was established by Friou & Myrtle Cathey in Tucson, Arizona. Cathey’s simply sold and repaired vacuum cleaners to the neighboring Tucson area up until the late 1960’s when Friou Cathey Jr. the eldest son chose to take on the sales and repair of sewing machines, which in turn ended up retitling the business to Cathey’s Sewing & Vacuum!
Donny Cathey the youngest son of Friou and Myrtle launched the Cathey’s we know today on July 1st, 1978 on Speedway Boulevard. Today Cathey’s has three locations, a repair center, warehouse and an ecommerce division. Still to this day a family business, Donny Cathey owns Cathey’s with the assistance of 3 of his children Andy, Carly and Geordy who operate the business.
